Crazy about donut

I am simpy crazy over donuts. I really go nuts over donut and everytime I see a donut cafe, I would definitely get one to eat even after a heavy dinner!

When I was on my way to meet up with SGMale this evening, I saw this newly opened donut shop at Boon Lay MRT station, so I bought 4 donuts for us. They are having a promotion, $1 for each donut. Wow!!!!

SGMale was also happy when he saw my favourite donuts, yummy!!!

Let's enjoy our donuts, dear.

My reward from the arcade

Recently "two old kids" got hooked to the UFO catcher at Jurong East arcade "Zone-X". Whenever we go out for dinner, we would ended up heading for Jurong East. Why? The answer is above, on the first line. Our main motive is not to have dinner there but to go arcade to try our luck!

Last week, both of us were very impressed when we saw one uncle who is in his late fourties hooking up a toy. He aimed one of the hook into the neck of the toy and he manage to hook up the whole toy! It was so amazing!

SGMale decided to give it a try! But ended up losing his "hard-earned" $50 bucks to the "hungry" UFO catcher. As for me, I became bored after standing beside him, doing nothing, just watching him donating money into 'nothingness'. It was truly a very discouraging sight...;(

After much hesitations, I decided to give the one other machine a try!
With $6 investment, I got two cute little toys for our son.
I am sure he will like it.

Aren't they cute?

Lady luck is with me!

Today is a very special day for me. Know why?
Is it because I don't have to work today?
Is it because it's my "tai-tais" life again?
No, no, no.

The answer is: I finally passed my final theory evaluation today!
I have suffered 8 failures altogether friend R! Both of us were so close to passing every time, making us very 'Twee' and angry with ourselves with each failure. Would anyone out there know about our feelings?

But finally I passed it today, with a score of 92%, although it's wasn't a very good score cos the passing score is 90%. But who cares! SGMale was very happy for me, and gave me a treat at Yacht Club together with our son. Both the 3 of us ended up going home with a bloated tummy. Painful but happy bloated!

Dinner at Republic of Singapore Yacht Club

SGFemale finally passed her final theory evaluation test..she was so so so happy. As a reward for her, I decided to give her a treat!

After fetching our son from the childcare centre, we drove down to the Singapore Yacht Club which is somewhere near West Coast. The food there is good and to some extent economical. This is already our 2nd time eating dinner here.

Below are some of the dishes we have ordered.

Wharf platter

Spicy otah wings

XO seafood fried rice

Seafood baked rice

Losing money to UFO Catcher

Went down to arcade with SGFemale last evening, I spent more than $50 bucks on playing the UFO catcher and guess what, I did not manage to catch a single toy after 'donating' more than $50 bucks.

Lesson learnt: Playing the UFO catcher at the arcade can be highly addictive..why didn't anyone set up a hotline for rehabitating those addicted to the UFO catcher...

Half more day to go!

7.45am - just finished my cup of Cafe Mocha.
7.50am - sitting at my desk, going through my work.
8am to 12.50pm - rushing to complete my outstanding work!

Recalling back-
- can't wait to start work, felt that this job is so "special" and "unique"

3 months later
- can't wait to leave this work place

Why is the clock clicking so slowly today?
Is the clock running low of batteries?
What is happening to me? Why am I so eager to go?
I just don't want to stay here any longer than i should.

Chocolate Fantasy

I bought 2 boxes of chocolate for SGMale when I was lunching out at Gek Poh Shopping Centre
on Tuesday 19-Aug with a colleague and her father. Both SGMale & myself are simply crazy about chocolate since our courtship days, especially Japanese chocolate or those special ones.
We usually spent a lot whenever there is a "chocolate fair" at shopping malls.

So why did I just buy 2 boxes that day? Haha..for a simple reason..cos I do not usually bring too much money out for lunch. So in the end, after paying for my lunch and my breakfast for the next day, I was left with $3.00. I borrowed $10 from my colleague to buy the 2 box of chocolate which costs me $6.80.

Mochi chocolate $3.80 for a box of 8 pcs

Nuts & Berry white chocolate $3.00 with a box of 14 pcs

It's a bit too sweet for me.

In terms of personal preferences, I preferred bitter sweet dark chocolate flavour while SGMale loves sweet milky chocolate flavour.

1st mooncake of the year

Bought 2 pcs of mooncakes yesterday at Bukit Batok East Ave 4. We went all the way there just to buy the mooncake after reading about it from someone's blog. In the blog, it was mentioned that it is very tasty and does not poke a big hole on your wallet.

We bought as et of pure lotus paste with 2 yolks, it was selling at $9.80 for a box of 2. Isn't it cheap, especially in the midst of inflation now.

Skin was so thin and almost invisible!
Lotus paste is just right, not so sweet!

Bought 2 pcs of "lao po bing" or "wife biscuit" for SGMale as it is his favourite.

Will definitely go back to get more for our families. And also to try their egg-tart and shao bao.

PASTA de Waraku

We recently have lunch at Waraku and thought we record down what we have order and eat there for future reference.

Their variety of pasta is incredible. Although the portion is small but the food was good. Will definitely visit the place again.

Occupational Health Hazard

In my line of work, when outages happen, I always get activated anytime of the day and when I am out of luck, I get call in the mid of the night and I really find this very hazardous to one's health if this carries on in the long run. Take last night for example, I got awaken from 2am and I had to stay online and teleconf till 8am in the morning and worst of all, I could not really get back the sleep that I have lost...

Looking forward to the day when I can get out of this..

The day has come!

Busy! Busy! Busy! Stress! Stress! Stress! Work! Work! Work!

A week passed and the much awaited day finally arrived! Still remember which day is today?
Wednesday - 20.08.2008. What a nice date to remember!

Have you forgot that I mentioned in my last blog that I have found a job?
Bingo! Today is my resignation day! Yeah!
I make it! I tendered my resignation letter to my manager this morning at 8.30am sharp (my start work hour), gave them a week's notice. I have been worrying a lot since last Tuesday worried that they might give me my confirmation letter before I tender my resignation and if that happens, I will have to stay there for another painful month.

My confirmation day turns out to be my resignation day, how ironic!! I felt so relieved after tendering my resignation and so happy when my one week's notice is confirmed. I just can't wait to get out of there!

Hahaha! Why am I so keen in resigning?? Well, I was taken for granted by my partner there, she was shocked when I told her about my resignation. She was worried cos she had given me a lot of work. And she got to finish them all before they got a replacement! Serve her RIGHT!!!!! All the complicated and difficult works with lot of troublesome issues will soon "roll" back to her table! She had even got me into trouble with the regulatory affairs personnels before! She always like to order me to do something that may offend the people from the other departments. Luckily, they finally knew that it was her who asked me to do so, they even complained to our manager that she is so Kiasu and Kia-si. She nearly fainted when our manager told her that!

Today she still got the cheek to ask me why I decided to leave? She asked "Is there anybody here that treat you badly? Someone from regulatory affairs? Or someone from Marketing?" I told her "NO" straight in her face! And she replied "Are you sure? Tell me! Who?" She kept asking and asking! Aiya!!! I should have told her that it's because of "you" that I left. Working together with her makes me think that I am getting more and more mentally retarded!

Ok, let's stop talking about her, don't let her spoilt my mood. I will be starting my new job on 3rd Sept after taking a week's break first.

SGMale was kind enough to treat me to dinner at Hilltop Japanese Restaurant to celebrate my resignation. We enjoyed our teppanyaki dinner there together with our son.

Cheers to my new job!

Found a job!

Could not sleep well last nite, know why? Cos I am having an interview today, a post in my close friend's company..was really excited and nervous about it. I was a bit stressed out, apprehensive that I could not get the job.

6.05pm, went in for interview.

7.05pm, came out from interview.
Everything went so smooth!
Yuppie! Got the job along with the pay I desired.

What's next for me? Resign from existing company lah!
How? Oops...have not really think about it...let me see..ok, I will just walk in to the Manager's office and drop him a "letter" then run off as fast as I could. Can?
Or should I paste a stamp on my resignation letter and post it to him? Or should I...... Or maybe give him an "e-resignation" email letter?
Hm.... still got a week time to think of a special way to resign, so that my manager will remember me forever and ever!!!

Till my actual resignation, good luck to me!

Arcade Craze - when will it ever end..?

Cling! Cling! Cling!

SGFemale: Quick! A bit to the left..er...no, a bit to the right lah....

SGMale: Aiyah...see lah..the grabbing mechansim need repairing, it's so loose..

SGFemale: Yah! Yah! Yah! Blame it all on the speechless machine man!

SGMale: I will go change another set of token..

Son: Hurray!

See...that's what happen whenever we walk past an arcade inside shopping malls. Anyway, most of the time, our son is with us when we play and therefore we do have a small 'scapegoat' if harvest is no good at the end of the catch...;)

Wonder if there is any rehabitation centre for curing AA [Arcade Addict] like us..

-SGMale

Dinner at Pizza Hut

Haha..once again, we are again tempted to see out despite the many naggy advice from our old folks that nothing beats home cooked food. Well...anyway here we are sitting inside the PizzaHut Restaurant together with our son.

The service crew was kind enough to reserve a sofa seat for us after I express my desire to have a sofa seat since we have to place our son on a baby chair, it would be easier to feed him.

Finally, the food arrived..our long awaited pizza..and the rest of the food.

So after the heavy meal, we again tell ourselve we should try to have home cooked food next time round..

Running Track

It always feels good after a jog at the running track near our place. Though there are more people jogging over the weekends but I guess that is the only chance I can get to trim and burn off those extra fat/calories I have accumulated over the many heavy meals I have had over the weeks.

Running on the running tracks is a healthier choice for me because it really beats running off the roadside where one gets to breathe in all those carbon monoxide from all passing vehicles.

Till the day we move to another location in Singapore, I will probably use the running track for as long as I could unless it is raining in which I will make use of the Gym.

Work! Work! Work!

It's 11pm now, still awake. Don't know what to do. Write blog? What to write?
Aiyo... So stressed. Nowsadays, work load is getting more and more, heavier and heavier. Sometimes, I can't even concentrate cos there's just a lot of stuff in my mind. This is urgent! That is urgent! Aiyo....

Did I mention about my job before? My job is quite unique and "special".
I am working in Procurement in Artwork department of packaging components.
At first, I find it very interesting, but now with the extreme work load, I am growing to be sick of the job.

Every morning when I wakes up, I would be thinking, aiya... so sian, got to go work again. I am always looking forward to weekends. I always have to convince and force myself to sit up then to shower and so on.....

How I missed my "tai-tais" life......;p
But in reality, have to eat, have to spend, so must work loh....
If not in long run, will become very lazy! Moreover, during inflation, everything increases price, what to do? Cannot put all the burden on SGMale to support the whole family. With a car, it's even harder, with a son, to provide them with milk, diapers and childcare etc....

Conclusion- try to bear with it and try to love my job cos I think I am already very fortunate to be able to work!!!!

Dinner at Executive Cafe at NTU

Hehehe..we are back to NTU again for dinner at their newly set up Executive Cafe. We went for the set meal for 2 @ 19.95 per pax offer. There are quite a few nice dishes that comes with this set meal that we ordered.

The ambience was very nice and the place was very spacious and trendy..waitress was polite and considerate.

The food is really above average in terms of tastiness, design and coloring. We will try their Ala Carte menu next time round.
