Arcade Craze - when will it ever end..?

SGMale: Aiyah...see lah..the grabbing mechansim need repairing, it's so loose..

SGFemale: Yah! Yah! Yah! Blame it all on the speechless machine man!

SGMale: I will go change another set of token..

Son: Hurray!

See...that's what happen whenever we walk past an arcade inside shopping malls. Anyway, most of the time, our son is with us when we play and therefore we do have a small 'scapegoat' if harvest is no good at the end of the catch...;)





Wonder if there is any rehabitation centre for curing AA [Arcade Addict] like us..

Dinner at Pizza Hut

Haha..once again, we are again tempted to see out despite the many naggy advice from our old folks that nothing beats home cooked food. Well...anyway here we are sitting inside the PizzaHut Restaurant together with our son.

The service crew was kind enough to reserve a sofa seat for us after I express my desire to have a sofa seat since we have to place our son on a baby chair, it would be easier to feed him.

Finally, the food arrived..our long awaited pizza..and the rest of the food.










So after the heavy meal, we again tell ourselve we should try to have home cooked food next time round..

Running Track

It always feels good after a jog at the running track near our place. Though there are more people jogging over the weekends but I guess that is the only chance I can get to trim and burn off those extra fat/calories I have accumulated over the many heavy meals I have had over the weeks.

Running on the running tracks is a healthier choice for me because it really beats running off the roadside where one gets to breathe in all those carbon monoxide from all passing vehicles.

Till the day we move to another location in Singapore, I will probably use the running track for as long as I could unless it is raining in which I will make use of the Gym.

Work! Work! Work!

It's 11pm now, still awake. Don't know what to do. Write blog? What to write?
Aiyo... So stressed. Nowsadays, work load is getting more and more, heavier and heavier. Sometimes, I can't even concentrate cos there's just a lot of stuff in my mind. This is urgent! That is urgent! Aiyo....

Did I mention about my job before? My job is quite unique and "special".
I am working in Procurement in Artwork department of packaging components.
At first, I find it very interesting, but now with the extreme work load, I am growing to be sick of the job.

Every morning when I wakes up, I would be thinking, aiya... so sian, got to go work again. I am always looking forward to weekends. I always have to convince and force myself to sit up then to shower and so on.....

How I missed my "tai-tais" life......;p
But in reality, have to eat, have to spend, so must work loh....
If not in long run, will become very lazy! Moreover, during inflation, everything increases price, what to do? Cannot put all the burden on SGMale to support the whole family. With a car, it's even harder, with a son, to provide them with milk, diapers and childcare etc....

Conclusion- try to bear with it and try to love my job cos I think I am already very fortunate to be able to work!!!!

Dinner at Executive Cafe at NTU

Hehehe..we are back to NTU again for dinner at their newly set up Executive Cafe. We went for the set meal for 2 @ 19.95 per pax offer. There are quite a few nice dishes that comes with this set meal that we ordered.

The ambience was very nice and the place was very spacious and trendy..waitress was polite and considerate.

The food is really above average in terms of tastiness, design and coloring. We will try their Ala Carte menu next time round.

NATAS Fair August 2008

We were at the Natas Fair last weekend, both on Sat and Sun..why? Because Sat is for brochure collection and Sun is for actual booking and bargains..;)

The queue was extremely long, spanning all the way from Hall 4 till Hall 6. The gift this time round was not so good as compared to the March event. Nevertheless, we got what we wanted in terms of choices of agencies.




We had in mind destinations like USA, Europe, Australia and Taiwan but ended up booking tour to China with another couple friend. Reason being the escalating cost of the airport tax and the inflation rate, we see no point in paying so much for a destination that was very much cheaper 1 year's back. We are not stingy but just could not convince ourselves to spend so much on a trip.






SGFemale may not be able to go for the October trip due to her work schedule..well, let see how.

Ala Carte lunch at NTU

We had lunch at NTU again the other day and this time round we decided to try out their western Ala Carte menu.

The food was good and economical. The steak was not so well done but was acceptable since you get what you pay for...;)









Will defnitely come back for more..

Dinner at Sheng Siong Seafood - Taman Jurong

It was our first visit to the seafood joint and we were not at the very least impress with the food. We ordered a few dishes which turned out to be quite below average.













This could be our first and last try.

Dinner at Yaki Yaki Bo

Met up SGFemale at Jurong Point after a long squeezy ride inside the MRT. The company transport sent me to Jurong East instead of Jurong Point and I have to take a train back to Jurong Point...sucks man!

Anyway we decided to have Japanese food for dinner as we walked past the Shokutsu Japanese dining area. After much hesitations, we decided to have Japanese Tepanyaki for dinner and so we went in to the Yaki Yaki Bo restaurant.




We ordered a seafood set for SGFemale and Chicken-cum-Seafood set for myself. The ambience is smoky but food quality was good in my opinion.





SGFemale: OK, time to go home, hmm dun feel like taking bus
SGMale: I dun mind taking cab if someone is paying
SGFemale: Ok...Ok...

Sarpino's Pizzeria at Singapore Discovery Centre

We had a very disappointing lunch over at the SDC today. Their discovery cafe only has 2 stalls, one selling Nasi Lemak and the other selling pizza. The stall selling pizza was man by a young lady who was more busy playing her PSP that to serve customers. Service was pretty bad and we did not even know who else is working in the kitchen after our order. We suspect that staff working in the kitchen could have fallen asleep long time ago.

After some 20 minutes of waiting, the food finally arrives. The slice pizza was acceptable, but the pasta were horribly done, both serving of pasta were probably the worst we have eaten so far..;(









Never will we attempt to eat from Sarpino's pizzeria again..one bitten, twice shy.

Visit to Singapore Discovery Centre

Since weather was good, we decided to visit SDC with our son. We took a cab there as it was rather hard to get a bus on a Sunday afternoon.

Videography is not allowed within the exhibition premises so we took quite a bit of pictures. The place is a bit like Science Centre except it is smaller in scale and number of visitors is very much lesser than that of Science Centre.






There are many variety of discovery games that are suitable for both the old and the young. Our son especially like the stepping game where one needs to step on the whiteboard in order to execute actions like kicking virtual balls, chasing virtual butterflies etc.

There is a giant sphere that emits many varieties of colors that never fails to catch the attention of our son. There is also a free 2D movie called Great North, a documentary on how people living there survives on the extreme cold weather and very scare food resource. The people living there has no internet, radio, entertainments like karaoke, movies. They have no Orchard to go shopping, all they have is very hermit-like type of life style where SGFemale and myself could never ever imagine living such simplistic life, we will probably go crazy in a day or two..;)






Great North also shows us unique ways of living that are perfectly adapted to extreme environments. Patience, a respect for nature's lessons and the bonds of community are what's needed. Inside their snow houses and tents, we watch the Inuit and Saami passing on what they know to their children, making sure that their way of life will remain eternal.



After the show, we took a 30 minutes free tour on a Safti bus that goes around the camp. We were briefed by the tour guide how the many aspects of the camp and their respective functions and history.


There are also many art and craft displays that caught our attention. All very nicely done, wonder who does all these...















There are quite many things that are very state-of-art and we greatly enjoyed ourselves. But to attract many more visitors, they may need to consider lowering the entrance fee.
