Up to some mischief again!

SGson was up to some mischief again!!!!

Whenever SGFemale gave some apple to SGson, he would never fail to surprise her.

This was happened!

Pic 1: SGson bite the slices of apple given to him into bites and showed it to SGFemale.
Pic 2: SGson made some teeth-markings on every slices of apple.

When asked why he did it, he said: so that Papa won't eat my apple !!!!

Hahaha.....

What a cute and innocent reply!

Thoughts on the run

As SGMale concludes his morning run near Chinese Garden MRT station, he noticed a few foreigners ( mostly couples) taking pictures of their friends in front of the MRT station.

First thought that came to mind was...what is so interesting about taking picture in front of a MRT station?? Then as I continue my run back home, it suddenly dawn upon me that..hey, SGMale and SGFemale have been taking pictures of many insignificant places and objects whenever they go for vacation oversea.

Haha..so it is an inevitable behaviour of all foreigners that they want to 'capture' a shot of building/things that are of interest to them, nevermind if they are being stared at by the locals. To them, those are the things that they may never get to see again in their life while the locals usually taking for granted since they have the luxury to 'appreciate' those things anytime.

SGMale and SGFemale will be going for vacation to Europe soon and God know how many pictures they are going to take this time...;P

An unexplainable sadness

SGFemale has been standing at her kitchen's window for 10 mins.

SGFemale heard some noise when she was in the study-room surfing net, she went to the kitchen to check. Oh... the wake which is located at the opposite block is having a "live band performance", as the cortege is leaving soon for Crematorium.

The band is playing the song "月亮代表我的心 (The moon represent my heart)" sang by the late singer Theresa Teng 邓丽君 who is also one of my favourite singer for oldies. The music played reminds SGFemale of Theresa Teng 邓丽君, SGFemale would always sing her songs when she went to Karaoke, 我只在乎你 (I only care about you), 月亮代表我的心 (The moon represent my heart), 千言萬語, 甜密密, 小城故事, 但願人長久, 再見我的愛人 (Goodbye, my love), 在水一方 and etc....

In order to listen to the music clearly, SGFemale shifted her notebook to the kitchen, and wrote this blog while listening to the on-going music. In her heart, she felt "sweet and sad", sweet as the music is "somehow romantic" when they played the song " the moon represent my heart", to SGFemale, this is a very romantic song and she likes it alot. SGFemale is also sad cos she felt sad for the decreased although she don't know him / her and there's just some unexplainable sadness in the music.

The music went on and on.....
Tears started to roll down from SGFemale's eyes.....

What would life be without titbits???

What would life be without titbits?

SGFemale couldn't imagine that to happen, not in her life!!!

SGFemale is someone who loves titibits, and she can even have it for her 3 meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner and sometimes as supper. So in her kitchen, she packed her cabinet and fridge full of titbits.

Her friends even teased her of having a convenience store at home!!!!

On Monday 10 Aug 09, which was a public holiday, SGFemale, SGMale and SGson went to Sim Lim Square, and SGFemale sneaked away from the two to get some "stocks"cos she knew that there's a Korean shop at Burlington Square. She returned after 20 mins with a big bag of titbits.

Her favourite titbits are seaweed and cuttlefish, that's why!!!

People who can't swim but loves food from the sea, seafood, seaweed and cuttlefish...;)

Isn't it funny???

Haha...

Will have a titbits party with SGMale and SGson tonite after dinner, hee...;D

Thristy Hippo

Thirsty Hippo is an interesting and amazing product. SGFemale has always find this product very amazing! While packing her wardrobe this morning, SGFemale came across the 'box' and sachet of Thristy Hippo which she left inside the wardrode months ago.

Guess what? The chemical change inside the box was intriguing!!! The box which contains just powder got converted into brownish liquid. The sachet itself became a "gel-like" thing, like transparent "play-doh".

WOW!!!! It is amazing, isnt it??

Again, SGFemale got to repeat, this is an amazing product and hence this wonderful blog!
Haha!

Our Cornell Electric Fan

Our Cornell Fan which has been with us for about 3 years or so is going on strike these two weeks.

It started off with some weird and noisy sound which apparently scared our son at night, sometimes it would be "normal", then next moment, it would be "actively noisy", waking up the poor boy from his sleep, making him cry...;(

Poor SGFemale had to rush over to stop the fan and increase the temperature for the aircon, then coax son to sleep.
Sigh...

Just this morning, it couldn't start. SGFemale checked and tried again and again to "rescue" the fan but in vain.

The fan is now "certified dead" and we will have to start looking for a new standing fan or a tower fan for our son.

Meantime, got to find some place to bury this fan, haha......

Any good fan to recommend???

Son's favourite song

Son's Favourite Song

Son: Thomas and his friends.......
SGFemale: What?
Son: Thomas and his friends.....
SGFemale: There's 2, there's 4, there's 6, there's 8, shunting trucks and hauling freight.....
Son: I know, I know, mummy
Son: It's Thomas and his friends......
Son: Thomas and his friends......
Son: Thomas and his friends......
SGFemale: Ok, ok, enough of your Thomas and his friends!!!!

Thomas the Tank Engine 2 4 6 8 PBS Theme Song

They're two, they're four, they're six, they're eight
Shunting trucks and hauling freight,
red and green and brown and blue,
they're the really useful crew,
All with different roles to play,

Round Tidmouth sheds or far away,
Down the hills and round the bends,
Thomas and friends

Thomas, he's the cheeky one,
James is vain but lots of fun,
Percy pulls the mail on time,
Gordon thunders down the line,
Emily really knows her stuff,
Henry toots and huffs and puffs,
Edward wants to help and share,
Toby, well let's say, he's square

They're two, they're four, they're six, they're eight,
Shunting trucks and hauling freight,
red and green and brown and blue,
they're the really useful crew,
All with different roles to play,
Round tidmouths or far away,
Down the hills and round the bends,
Thomas and friends

New uniform for the kid

Our son's childcare centre moved in June and we just received notice last Thursday that they are changing their uniform as well.

While sending our son to the centre this morning, I bought 2 sets of uniform for him.

I hand-washed both sets of uniform this morning, and now it's ready for him.

He shall wear his new and clean uniform to school tomorrow.

Btw, the 2 sets of uniform costs the unemployed mother (that's me) $48, there's goes my lunch budget for the week, got to live on bread.

Hahaha...... Just joking!

How to eat "good food" during bad economy??

How to eat good food during bad economy like now......

Everyday I have to "crack my head" to think, what to cook my own share of lunch!!!!
Sigh.......

While I was at the supermarket this morning, I saw this particular product which I haven't eaten for months is"on offer" again. I almost forgot about this product, haha..... Didn't want to waste the chance, I bought a packet immediately....;)

It is imitation abalone slice, made from giant squid with abalone seasoning, good for porridge and soup.

Why not???

So I decided to cook "Abalone Porridge" for my lunch today.

Some dried scallops

Cooking in progess......

After 15mins......

My "abalone porridge" is ready, yeah...;)

Although it wasn't the "real abalone", but to me, it is good enough as it is also as tasty as the real thing.

What an easily contented person!

Enjoying....;)

Back to the arms of M1

As my contract with Singtel ends on Jul 09, so I decided to switch back to M1 which was my service provider for 8 years before I signed a 2 years contract with Singtel on 2007.

To me, M1 is still the BEST !!!!! Be it their services, rewards, promotions, they got the best coverage so far, that's my personal thinking. Back in Aug 200, I encountered reception problems with Singtel during my 1st month of contract, but I got no choice cos I didn't want to breach the contract and ended up paying few hundreds of dollars for penalty.

So..... I retained my old numbers and was given a $100 discount, I got a new Nokia E71, paying just $98.

My old Nokia 6300 and new Nokia E71 handphone

Cheers!!!!

A happy and satisfied consumer back to the arms of M1 finally!!!!

Toilet in Singapore

If only all toilets in Singapore are of this standard.....

These are taken at Paragon Orchard.

Although our new toilet isn't that good as above, but still consider ok, better than those at coffeeshop!

Chocolate Research Facility

While passing by Wheelock Place, we saw an advertisement on the glass entrance door.
We followed the address stated on it and found this very interesting shop at level 2.

It's a very nice, neat and unique boutique-cum-cafe with 2 outlets in Singapore, Millenia Walk and Wheelock Place.

Chocolate Research Facility

They claimed to be the world's first: Chocolate bars offering 100 different flavours.

Their range of chocolates include connoisseur, exotic and double fruit series that are set to tantalize taste buds. I saw a few interesting flavours like Sichuan pepper, Lychee Martini, Earl Grey Tea, Longan, HoneyDew and many more.....

Their product comes with attractive printed packaging which would draw attention of passer-by to focus on them, that's what it does to me.

Moreover, they promise that you'll be left - BREATHLESS.

Price range from $8 to $12 for a 8cm x 12 cm bar.

Weekend stay at Genting - Day 2

We woke up early the next morning after a good night sleep. We left for breakfast at the McDonalds after washing up. After a hearty meal, we started the day by taking some rides inside the indoor theme park. Our son was all-smiles when we hopped onto a monorail in the shape of a caterpillar.

We took a lot of shots as the monorail travels through the entire indoor theme park. It also passed through the outdoor theme park where we caught very nice view of the scenaries. We promise to bring our son here again when he gets older.

We had lunch at a Vietnamese restaurant that serves very good vietnamese food, and the price was reasonable too. We took the cable car ride after lunch and we were a bit disappointed as the fog outside was rather heavy and we could hardly see a thing. Our heart lifted as the fog started to clear away after about 10 minutes.

The cable car brings us to the lower part of the Genting where there is a small shopping area. We windows-shopped a bit and took the cable car back after visiting the indoor reptiles exhibit. It was really an eye-opener for all of us as most of the reptiles were very unique and rare.

SGMale and SGFemale signed up for Worldcard membership at one of the nearby casino and also took the opportunity to try out their luck there. ;P We spent some private time with our son after my mother-in-law and her friend left us for the casino.

We regrouped back at evening time to have a sumptuous dinner at one Shanghai-ese restaurant. Their fried rice was very nicely done and so were the rest of the food that we ordered. After the dinner, it was again our turn to play the jackpot and mother-in-law took care of our son for a couple of hours.

After which we left for our room to rest and guess what...we arranged with my MIL to wake us up when they come back in the mid of the night. It was freezing cold that night and we could hardly sleep because the strong wind outside was causing a very loud haunting sound whenever it blows against the windows panes.

We left for the casino at 3.30am and we played all the way till 7am. It was very very tiring but rewarding in the sense that it is not everyday that we get to play the jackpot. Although SGMale lost about 150RM, it was fun and luckily SGFemale manage to recoup her losses during the last round of the jackpot.

We dragged our tired body back to the hotel room and SGMale collapsed onto the bed till about 10am. We washed up after that and had some light lunch before we checked out from the hotel and walked towards the bus terminal to wait for our coach back to Singapore.

The most tiring part of this trip was not the lack of sleep but the fact that we have to take turns to take care of our son. Until the time he gets older, we will probably not bring him oversea again...;P
