Ang Mo Kio Hub

After the sumptuous lunch at Vienna, we drove over to AMK HUB to catch a movie [Hancock]. It was about a man with superhero power that attempts to save human lives but in a very rude and outrageous way until a someone change him slowly...i shall not reveal too much here...go watch the movie, it's worth the money.

After the movie, we walked around the hub...bought 4D and TOTO and of course, shopping, shopping and shopping...what else man..:)

Lunch at Vienna International Seafood & Teppanyaki Restaurant

SGFemale and I took the day off on Monday and yes..we went for a huge feast at Vienna International Seafood & Teppanyaki Restaurant. We started off with a some soup and veggie stuff and looking at the huge buffet spread before us, we could not help but try out most of the delicious dishes. SGFemale was very much into spanner crabs and I was attacking mostly the pepper crabs and raw stuff.

They change the dishes from time to time, we were kind of spolit for choices..

The ambience is nice and the waiting staff were fast and efficient in clearing away our used plates..;) Though the price has increased by a few bucks, it did not deter Singaporeans like us from spending our hard-earn money here.

Latest arcade craze

Having seen some youngsters played the 'control and grab' game to win the type of miniture or toys that one desire from a transparent display cabinet and after some period of keen observation, SGFemale decided to give it a shot last weekend.

Wasted $3 bucks on first few attempts, I gave it a shot and YES!! I got ourselves one 'banana stuff toy'..and after spending some $15 more bucks, we have altogether won 4 'Banana toy'. We reckon that each 'Banana' should cost about $5-6 each in the market. What comforting thoughts and assumptions..;)

Anyway, our son loves the toys and it is at least one little consolation if any...

Unexpected visit to a rural part of Singapore

After sending off our son to his favourite weekend escape, a 2 day 1 night stay at my in-law's house, we set off to explore the east side of Singapore. SGMale suggested going to Bedok Shopping Centre. Upon hearing the venue, I got a little "sian", cos never heard of it and got an impression that it must be somewhere similar to Boon Lay Shopping Centre.

I was right about it when we finally got there after 90mins, cos we lose our way, hahaha.... even with our GPS. It was like JB, with a few shop houses, coffeeshop, fruit stall and with a supermarket (Shop N Save).

We walked around the place and found a few restaurants hiding at the corner, as there's nothing special about their food, so we ended up eating at a crowded coffeeshop. We had noodle, mee siam and rojak for our lunch. The noodle which SGMale was having was very nice, no wonder all the people in that coffeeshop were all having it, except me.

When I saw SGMale wolfing down the noodle, I asked to try his noodle, hm... it was indeed very nice. I should have ordered that. As I usually don't eat yellow noodle, I gave it a miss. I would always prefer bee hoon to noodle anytime and that's why I ordered mee siam, but it didn't turn out good, was too concentrated.

After lunch, we bought a donut at "Donut Master" to share, it was a Chocolate crunch with cheese at $1.50, quite expensive for one but it was really nice and soft. Will definately go back again for noodle and more donut next time. Hopefully, we won't get lose again, hee!!!

New toy from Samsung

Finally I manage to reserve and get this long-awaited multi-function phone. The best part of this phone other than its unique touchscreen capabilities, it has this iphone look-alike interface that never fails to intrigue me...this phone should last me for at least 2-3 year i hope..;)

Only get to paid slightly over $200 buck for this new toy after re-contracting my phone service and trading in my old N95 phone.

So far this phone has not failed me yet in terms of features and it's amazing battery life...

Handi Massager

Brought this massager from Bugis Junction. In our opinion, it manage to achieve the same desired effect as that of the OSIM massager which costs many times more..

Will be using this very often as we are both victims of frequent shoulder and backache.

Sign of getting old huh!

Electronic keyboard for our son

Our son seems to have special liking for electronic keyboard, hence we decided to buy one for him last weekend. He was very happy and excited as we unwrap his new toy for him..children being children..they are always so happy with the simplest thing in life..unlike adults..as we grow old and old, it takes more and more materialistic things to make us happy....sometimes we should not forget to relive those childhood happy moments as they are indeed priceless!

Spolit School Bus

We will need to get another toy school bus for our son as he's favourite school bus decided to end it's miserable life [always get dropped down from high place by our son] recently...weep *.*

Will probably get one for him this weekend..

Masterpiece from our son

It is always very nice to see our son bringing home his artworks from the childcare centre. His most recent masterpiece manage to bring endless smiles to SGFemale's face. TO be honest, we are both very proud of what he can do now.

As we watch him grow day by day, we also realise that we are getting older and older as well. We must always remind ourselves to spend more time with him while we can. When he grows up and have his own groups of friends, we will not have the opportunity to 'bond' with him anymore..time and tide waits for no man...DO IT NOW! Yeah!!

Home Threater System

We manage to redeem the Home Threater System 2 Sundays ago. As we did not bring any carry aids with us, I have to carry the entire box all the way to the car which is across the road on the next building. It was no doubt very good exercise for the heart though..;)

We set it up almost immediately upon reaching home as we could not wait to hear & witness the sound effects..

The box comes with 4+1 speakers and 1 Sub Woofer. Setting them up was a breeze..the real challenge was to tied neatly all the loose ends of wirings...I manage to bundle the entire barbs of wirings together under a wrap of plastic covers that comes with the speakers.

The sound effect was indeed very good as we watch our rental DVD over it.

NICE!

Most recent food crave

Not sure when it all started but I have been craving for both Char Siew and Roosted Pork rice and I have been ordering them for lunch and dinner unknowingly.

My favourite store is at West Coast Road. Their duck rice, char siew and roosted pork is one of the best I have eaten so far...the place is somewhere near to the West Coast Market.

It will probably take me a while to find another source of food crave...

Sailing Tall Ship Pallada from Russia

While we were walking along the 2nd floor shopping mall and both of us suddenly see the mast of a ship out the glass door facing the sea overseeing Sentosa..

Out of curiousity, we went out to take a look and we saw lots of people going up and down the ship and there were quite a lot of Russian sailors walking around..not sure what are they doing here at Vivocity, anyway we went up and took many photo as though we are tourists...;)

Shopping at Robinsons

As we were given $100 Robinsons Voucher when we purchased the 40 inch Samsung LCD TV recently, we hung around Raffles City to see of there is anything worth buying. Before we entered Robinsons, we were greeted by lots of posters indicating "Great Singapore Sale" with 15% storewide. Hurray!!

Just within 15 mins, I got 2 pieces of clothings, after trying them on, I decided to buy both the clothings as they are both very comfortable and fitting, and most importantly, there's a 15% discount and with another 20% for Robinsons card member, in total we are looking at 35% off. That's really one hell of a bargain! But if one were to use voucher then it's only 15% discount. After a quick discussion with SGMale, we decided to go for the 35% discount and pay cash instead of using the voucher.

Le'Range short sleeve blouse $39
(After 35% discount: $25.35)

Le'Range short sleeve blouse $29
(After 35% discount: $18.85)

These 2 tops' a gift for myself for surviving for a month at my new job. I saluted to myself for the sheer determination and willpower for hanging on till today which is also my payday. ;) Workload is getting heavier and so is stress, the one ingredient why most people leave their job. I don't know how long I can last, however I will try my best to overcome all obstacles that crosses comes along my way.

Jia You! Jia You! Jia You!

This also indicate that i need more retail therapy to unwind!!!

40 inch Full HD LCD TV

Hey...the 40" LCD TV has arrived for 5 days now and we have already watches more than 5 DVD movies with it...what a record.

We purchased it during the latest PC SHOW at Suntec. The 40" Full HD LCD TV was going at $1699 with free $100 Robinson voucher. SGFemale and myself agreed that it was a good bargain and so we decided on the spot to buy it.

The buttons on the TV are at the top and it is one unattractive feature my son does not like about cos he will not be able to touch them. Muhahahaha!

After watching more than 5 movies with this LCD TV, are we happy with the TV? Are we smiling? IT IS NOT HARD TO IMAGINE! :)

Visit to Singapore Flyer shopping area

We decided to bring my mother-in-law to visit the Singapore Flyer's premises and shopping area since we do not have anywhere to go after have a packeted dinner from Makansutra Glutton's Bay.

There are many more shops now compared to the last time we came. We also bring our son to walk inside the Yakult Rainfores Discovery.

We will definitely ascend the Singapore Flyer once the Casino and IR are ready, we see no point going up down as all anyone could see is a big spread of construction sites...

Dinner at ASTONS express [Jurong East]

Having heard so much about ASTONS, we decided to give it a try last evening. Service was good but waiting time was a bit long. Food is only average especially the steaks.

Dishes we ordered:

Grand Sampler

Pepper Beef Steak

Will go to the main branch to eat someday. The standard may be different. ;)
