John Little Expo Sale

Went over to John Little Sale at Hall 5 after the bloodshed session at Timberland Sale. Blood was still dripping out of SGmale's wallet, haha...;p
So we didn't intend to buy anything here, just walking around.

But in the end, I couldn't help it when I saw the range of titbits there. We ended up buying $70 worth of titbits and supplement tablets.

Pancake which Doraemon loves!!!!
2 boxes for $9.90, worth the price.

A box of 24pcs of biscuits for $7 only.

Milk biscuit for our son.

With all these titbits, can't be slimming down.

Good steal at Timberland Expo Sale

After sending our son to the childcare centre, I went with SGMale to the Singapore Expo early in the morning. Why were we there today? The reason is because there's Timberland Expo Sale with up to 70% off for shoes and clothings. At first, I wasn't very keen to go there cos I thought they only have items for mens. Then while checking the expo site, I found out that there's John Little Sale as well.

SGMale was very eager to go in upon reaching there, dashed into the exhibition hall while I was still in the ladies. By the time I met up with him in the hall, he was already with a bagful of shirts and jackets. I asked him, is it really so cheap? He answered, "yes, of cos my dear, go see what you want to buy". After ending the conversation, he disappeared back into the crowd leaving me alone searching around to see if there's anything for ladies.

Then I finally discover the ladies' corner, with about 50 varieties of heels, boots and sandals. I walked along the corner trying on the shoes. Hm... their shoes are really quite nice and comfortable, I took a fancy for about 6 pairs. But can't really buy all the 6 pairs, SGMale might kill me if I did, so I chose 3 pairs out of them.

By the time I went to check with SGMale if he's ready to go, I saw him with two big bags full with 2 pairs of shoes, 2 jackets, 2 sweaters, 4 T-shirts, 4 short-sleeve shirts and 4 long sleeve shirts, I nearly fainted on the spot. I took my cellphone out from my pocket and started to caculate, this time, my jaw dropped!! It's a total of almost $800 excluding the cost of my 3 pairs of shoes. After some discussion & heated arguments, I decided to forgo a set of shoes, and SGMale also forego some of his items.

Usual price: $159
Now: $69

Usual price: $149 Now: $69

In total, I spent $138 for two pairs of shoes.

I may wear them for my China trip in October..hehehe!

Go grab your before it's gone!!

Bloodshed shopping at Timberland Sale

70% off for almost everything is really way too much a temptation for anyone to withstand. Needless to say, both of us manage to make it there even right before it's opening hour. After our breakfast, we 'Chyong' inside and started the bloodshed battle along with other like-minded consumers...

Bloodshed shopping result announcement: -> a huge loss of blood for SGMale's poor wallet [$515]..

Loot from the bloodshed as displayed below:

The hole would have been very much bigger [$1889] had there not been a 70% discount for most items including 10% overall discount.

Crazy about donut

I am simpy crazy over donuts. I really go nuts over donut and everytime I see a donut cafe, I would definitely get one to eat even after a heavy dinner!

When I was on my way to meet up with SGMale this evening, I saw this newly opened donut shop at Boon Lay MRT station, so I bought 4 donuts for us. They are having a promotion, $1 for each donut. Wow!!!!

SGMale was also happy when he saw my favourite donuts, yummy!!!

Let's enjoy our donuts, dear.

My reward from the arcade

Recently "two old kids" got hooked to the UFO catcher at Jurong East arcade "Zone-X". Whenever we go out for dinner, we would ended up heading for Jurong East. Why? The answer is above, on the first line. Our main motive is not to have dinner there but to go arcade to try our luck!

Last week, both of us were very impressed when we saw one uncle who is in his late fourties hooking up a toy. He aimed one of the hook into the neck of the toy and he manage to hook up the whole toy! It was so amazing!

SGMale decided to give it a try! But ended up losing his "hard-earned" $50 bucks to the "hungry" UFO catcher. As for me, I became bored after standing beside him, doing nothing, just watching him donating money into 'nothingness'. It was truly a very discouraging sight...;(

After much hesitations, I decided to give the one other machine a try!
With $6 investment, I got two cute little toys for our son.
I am sure he will like it.

Aren't they cute?

Lady luck is with me!

Today is a very special day for me. Know why?
Is it because I don't have to work today?
Is it because it's my "tai-tais" life again?
No, no, no.

The answer is: I finally passed my final theory evaluation today!
I have suffered 8 failures altogether friend R! Both of us were so close to passing every time, making us very 'Twee' and angry with ourselves with each failure. Would anyone out there know about our feelings?

But finally I passed it today, with a score of 92%, although it's wasn't a very good score cos the passing score is 90%. But who cares! SGMale was very happy for me, and gave me a treat at Yacht Club together with our son. Both the 3 of us ended up going home with a bloated tummy. Painful but happy bloated!

Dinner at Republic of Singapore Yacht Club

SGFemale finally passed her final theory evaluation test..she was so so so happy. As a reward for her, I decided to give her a treat!

After fetching our son from the childcare centre, we drove down to the Singapore Yacht Club which is somewhere near West Coast. The food there is good and to some extent economical. This is already our 2nd time eating dinner here.

Below are some of the dishes we have ordered.

Wharf platter

Spicy otah wings

XO seafood fried rice

Seafood baked rice

Losing money to UFO Catcher

Went down to arcade with SGFemale last evening, I spent more than $50 bucks on playing the UFO catcher and guess what, I did not manage to catch a single toy after 'donating' more than $50 bucks.

Lesson learnt: Playing the UFO catcher at the arcade can be highly addictive..why didn't anyone set up a hotline for rehabitating those addicted to the UFO catcher...

Half more day to go!

7.45am - just finished my cup of Cafe Mocha.
7.50am - sitting at my desk, going through my work.
8am to 12.50pm - rushing to complete my outstanding work!

Recalling back-
- can't wait to start work, felt that this job is so "special" and "unique"

3 months later
- can't wait to leave this work place

Why is the clock clicking so slowly today?
Is the clock running low of batteries?
What is happening to me? Why am I so eager to go?
I just don't want to stay here any longer than i should.

Chocolate Fantasy

I bought 2 boxes of chocolate for SGMale when I was lunching out at Gek Poh Shopping Centre
on Tuesday 19-Aug with a colleague and her father. Both SGMale & myself are simply crazy about chocolate since our courtship days, especially Japanese chocolate or those special ones.
We usually spent a lot whenever there is a "chocolate fair" at shopping malls.

So why did I just buy 2 boxes that day? Haha..for a simple reason..cos I do not usually bring too much money out for lunch. So in the end, after paying for my lunch and my breakfast for the next day, I was left with $3.00. I borrowed $10 from my colleague to buy the 2 box of chocolate which costs me $6.80.

Mochi chocolate $3.80 for a box of 8 pcs

Nuts & Berry white chocolate $3.00 with a box of 14 pcs

It's a bit too sweet for me.

In terms of personal preferences, I preferred bitter sweet dark chocolate flavour while SGMale loves sweet milky chocolate flavour.

1st mooncake of the year

Bought 2 pcs of mooncakes yesterday at Bukit Batok East Ave 4. We went all the way there just to buy the mooncake after reading about it from someone's blog. In the blog, it was mentioned that it is very tasty and does not poke a big hole on your wallet.

We bought as et of pure lotus paste with 2 yolks, it was selling at $9.80 for a box of 2. Isn't it cheap, especially in the midst of inflation now.

Skin was so thin and almost invisible!
Lotus paste is just right, not so sweet!

Bought 2 pcs of "lao po bing" or "wife biscuit" for SGMale as it is his favourite.

Will definitely go back to get more for our families. And also to try their egg-tart and shao bao.
