At the arcade again!!!!

Today, I attended a colleague's daughter 1st birthday at Aranda Country Club at Pasir Ris. As SGMale dropped me off at 3.50pm at Downtown East (E-hub), I decide to walk around there and wait for the other colleagues to arrive.

I smsed 2 colleagues, one said that she is on the way but she was at Tiong Bahru MRT station and will only reach here in 45 mins to 1 hour. The other replied that she's still at home at Jurong and will only arrive at the club at about 6.30pm.

Ok, so I took a lift to the highest floor of the building which is the 5th floor at E-hub. This floor consists of K-box and a Japanese restaurant - (Nihon Mura) which is famous for their "worth-the-money" 99 cents sushi especially with the bad economy now. Anyway, since I can't be going to K-box alone and can't be eating sushi at this time. I went down to another floor, this floor really caught my attention, my time and my hard-earned money. I spend the rest of the hours there till 6.45pm.

So what is this floor? Entertainment! Cinama and arcade. Guess where did I go? Cinema? To catch a show till 6.45pm? NO! I went into the arcade and watch people playing with the claw machine and big sweetland machine. I watched and watched for 30 mins and was very tempted to try out myself. I tried to control myself until I saw a potential chance of getting a mini Minnie plush toy.

I searched my coin purse and found 5 pcs of $1 coins, I tried and tried, finally finished up all my $5 coins and the toy was at the edge of the dropping point. I went quickly to change for another $5 coins and continued..... At the 6th coin, I managed to catch 2 plush toys ( Minnie and a white cat) but only Minnie dropped into the winning tunnel.
Hee....;p

With 4 more coins left, i walked around and stand at the big sweetland machine again, watching a couple play. After a while, they decided not to play and walked off. I looked at their score, and thought to myself, isn't it very pity that they stopped at this point. So I went to exchange for some coins and starts to play.

As I play, I felt that quite a numbers of people are standing behind me to watch me play. Why? It's because I am winning a "Jackpot" soon. However, the sweets falling onto the checker were not strong enough, and I ended up exchanging for more coins. One couple beside me were even more excited than me, the guy kept saying, how come it didn't spin even when the sweets hit onto the checker! I turned and looked at him and smiled at him.

Finally, after about 4 - 5 trys, I won the jackpot. Was then given a choice and to choose, a Mickey figuring for display, a Minnie's ribbon cushion or a Yellow Bunny. I choose the Mickey figuring but then regretted it after 2 mins, then asked for an exchange for the yellow bunny.

At this time, my colleague called me, informing me that she arrived with another colleague. They came to meet up with me at the arcade and we played other games together, including claw machine and big sweetland. We had a wonderful time at the arcade.

Although I really enjoyed the fun and the process of winning, but I think I really have to give this "costly hobby" up...
I must really try hard to stop myself from playing the claw machine and the big sweetland machine. We had a lot of candies and plush toys at home now since our 1st try on 24th Dec 2007. Will have to give it away for birthdays and Christmas then....;P

Treetop Walk at MacRitchie Reservoir

Friend A and I decided to attempt the challenging hike to the Treetop Walk at MacRitchie Reservoir one fine sunday morning.

We never knew it was such a long and tedious journey and probably the longest walk in our life. Our entire hike easily spanned more than 12KM over the 2.5 hours long walk..

We were so hungry when we reached the finishing point that we wallop some of the food sold at the stall near the hill top.

Despite the long and tiring hike, it was fun and it was definitely a good test for our stamina.

Looks like I am already well-prep for my tour to China where there is lots and lots of hiking expected...;)

Picnic at Lower Pierce Reservior

Since the weather was fine, we decided to bring our son and his favourite toybike to the Lower Pierce Reservior. Although the air and scenery there was very good, we were invaded by lots of unwelcomed guest [Giant Ants] from all over the place.

After about half an hours of fighting them, we surrendered and decided to pack up and leave for the mini-playground nearby. Our son's eye immediately brightens up when he saw the slides that were attached to the playground.

After allowing our son to indulge in sliding down almost 20 times over, we left the place in a hurry as it was going to rain soon.

May visit the Upper Pierce Reservior next time, no promise.

Thomas & Friends train set for our kiddie

Decided to buy the set for our son since it was on offer on a Children's Day. This train set has a very well designed route that features it going around sending some tiny metal balls across to a few stations. Every move was well planned. After performing it's tasks at the last station, the train will move back to the first station and the entire process started again in a endless loop fashion. Our boy was so intrigued by it that he kept staring at the set, trying to figure out the entire process..haha..

A long long walk

Arranged with Friend A to challenge the Southern Ridges today. We decided to walk the entire 9 KM route. We parked our car at the carpark B inside Kent Ridge Park. We started walking from Canopy walk and walking all the way to Hort Park before finishing at Mount Faber due to extreme fatigue on both my legs. We started off at 11am and ended at 1pm to have lunch at Botak Jones which is located along Depot Road.

I don't know how many kilometres of road I have walked today, but luckily I still have the energy and mood to blog. Took some nice pictures at Hort Park and would like to share some of the nice creative planting. Enjoy!

On top of Mount Faber..

Got to be quiet when you pass by there..ok?

The Bridge to nowhere..

Reminds me of Twin Towers in some show..;)

Life saver in a hot weather like today..

Got snack vending machines nowsdays...

Please run as hard as you can when a branch falls off a tree..haha as if we know..

Creative gardening..
